Ballycraigy – Self-levelling Screed

Project Details

  • Client: Ballycraigy Properties Ltd
  • Specialist Contractor: Larsen Contracts
  • Market: Warehouse/Distribution

Larsen Contracts have successfully completed the refurbishment of a warehouse in Ballycraigy Business Park, which was turned around in just seven days.

The existing 1000m² slab was prepared using Larsen Contacts’ new Blastrac 15″ blasting machine, exposing cracks and imperfections in the slab; these imperfections along with the existing contraction joints (which were only temporarily filled to ensure no runaway during the application of the self-levelling compound) were filled and treated using Larfix E. The treated floor was then vacuum cleaned, primed using Duroglass P1/2 and scattered with dry quartz.

Finally, the self-levelling compound, SLC2000 Industrial, was laid at an average depth of 8mm across the slab and left to cure in order to mechanically reinstate the existing contraction joints in the slab, which were subsequently sealed using a modified polymer sealant (Arbomeric MP20).
