McCarren Meats is a family run meat processing operation based in Co.Cavan. Operating since 1863 the company, who specialise in pork and bacon, were looking to completely upgrade two cold storage rooms and one processing room, to include the installation of a resin floor to the existing concrete. Larsen Contracts discussed the performance requirements for the floor and provided a range of options for McCarren Meats to consider. The Degafloor FB system was selected as the solution to the cold environment and limited installation timescale. Degafloor resins cure fully in no more than 2 hours at temperatures down to -40oC. This system has an excellent track record in the food industry. In order that McCarren’s busy production schedule was not disrupted, the project was completed over two separate Sundays with over 250m2 of Degafloor FB installed in a striking red russet finish, with matching floor to wall coving.
